Mini Z Radio Control

Until quite recently Kyosho mini z radio control was virtually unknown. The trend was towards bigger and bigger trucks but there are alot of enthusiasts who just don't have the space and mini z radio control by Kyosho is ideal for them.

The mini z radio control market has grown very quickly and now many hobby stores have small indoor tracks just for these miniature racing cars. The Kyosho Mini-Z MR-02 is aimed at the on-road enthusiasts in the mini market with many of the Mini-Z MR-02's being modelled on exotic sports cars. But some other mini z radio control cars are finished to look just like their full-size racing original. The MR-02 platform also has a new speed controller providing braking, and a miniature servo saver that should prevent too much damge to servos when the inevitable knocks happen.

In the United States, currently (April 2009) the most important race for mini z radio control cars is the PN Racing World Cup Event. This starts with regional races held all over the country which then finish with the world cup final. It is fascinating to see the best drivers compete together in the finals of the national and international competition. Despite the small size of the cars, considerable driving skills and quick reactions are needed to be successful.

Another popular race, currently, is the online HFAY racing series. Local clubs or individuals build their race tracks using standard RCP track components and post their best times on the internet. This innovative racing format means that drivers from around the country, and even the world, can compete in the same event.
